High Bilirubin in new born baby |
In this article, I have tried to explain about very high bilirubin which was found in my newborn baby along with his photograph and medical report. Besides, I have also explained that why doctor changed the blood of my baby and what was the condition of my baby after the blood was changed? And why death of my baby took place?
I am patient of PCOS, due to which I could not get
pregnant for the first about 8 years of my marriage. But long term struggling
and treatment gave me a chance to get pregnant. Click here to see how Igot pregnant with PCOS.
Luckily, I got pregnant and in 8th month of
pregnancy (Pre-term), I gave birth to a baby boy on

At the time of birth of my baby boy, he was looking
good and had no breathing problem and he also wept just like other newborn
babies weep.
Soon after his birth, he was shifted to NHDU/ NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
for special care for monitoring.
When I went to NHDU/NICU for the first time to breast feed
my new born baby boy, at that time he was sleeping. I tried to talk with him but
he did not respond. Then, I started talking with him using those words, which I
used to talk with him when he was in my womb, which resulted into response by
my baby and he started weeping much. I happily
breast fed my baby in reasonable amount. Following is the photo of my son of
about 2 days in reasonable condition in NICU:-

During this period, I breast fed to my new born baby from time to time as per timings of hospital. In next few visits of breast feeding, I felt that my baby is not so much active as it should be like other babies. Besides, he started taking feed in fewer amounts which became a very dreadful situation for me. Following is the photo of my preterm baby when his condition was getting little bit worse in NICU:-

Anyhow, I continued breast feeding to my baby in NHDU/NICU
in low amount.

Following is the Bilirubin Test Report of my son.
Bilirubin Test Report of my preterm baby |
My husband gave above said bilirubin test report to
Doctor. The Doctor asked my husband bilirubin is too much high, therefore blood
exchange transfusion will be required to avoid permanently disability of baby
or any other complications. The doctor further advised to arrange blood
other than my blood.
We arranged blood and provided the same to Hospital. On

But after passing few hours, the condition of my baby
became severe and blood was coming out of his nose. The doctor required White Blood Cells from
blood bank. Besides, injection etc were also required by the doctors to tackle
the situation of baby but the condition of baby got worsen further and
ultimately on next date i.e 21st April 2022, my baby’s death too
place. Following is the photo of Expire
Note of my baby, written by Medical Staff, whereby death of my baby was
confirmed:-

Conclusion
I am pretty much sure that the cause of my baby is
actually the reaction which had occurred on exchange of blood (Blood
Exchange Transfusion). This reaction has occurred for the reason that Doctor
did not cross match the blood before transfusion.
